The Idle Farmer puppet I built for Future play games. Adapting the much loved character and established 2D design into a workable puppet was a really fun challenge. One of the challenges were the dimension of the character, he had to interact with a person on camera so his head couldn’t be too over-sized, and yet it still had to honor the dimensions of the design or it may have not looked like the character.

He puppeteered by the highly talented Clair Harvey in online video content on a comedy cookery show, in a form of advertising campaign that’s engaging and will drum up interesting in the brand and the mobile phone games.

He is made from Reticulated foam, fabrics and antron fleece.

About me:

I am a professional puppet maker and creature creator. Also I design, illustrate, sculpt and fabricate. I have a performance background as both an actor and puppeteer. So when I develop characters and build puppets I always approach the project from the point of view of the performer. Due to this I strive to build characters that are engaging and believable, whilst making them a joy to perform. Allowing the puppeteer to get the maximum and most versatile performance out of them. I have worked in puppets and creature FX for a number of years; spanning TV, Film, theatre and online mediums.
