Sex : Unzipped is a new Netflix Special streaming worldwide. It takes a humerous look at the myths and facts of sex. With a body and sex positive outlook, the show unites a wonderfully diverse cast of comedians and sex specialist to educate, entertain and dispel the myths of sex. The show is hosted by Rapper Saweetie and a cast of sex positive puppets.
This was a wonderful and wide ranging job. I designed a cast of host characters as well as a cast of human puppets that could play any character thrown at them. We also designed and built a whole cast of celebrity puppets that represented the comedians that appear in the show. We built a huge cast of puppets including the 5 host characters and doubles of each, a cast of 11 base human puppets and thirteen bespoke celebritie puppets. we also designed and built hundreds of costumes, props, wigs, eyes and accessories. I had a great team that came and went throughout the ever growing build as the project evolved. Big thanks to all who came to work with me on this project including Emily Booth, Sherri Hazzard, James Olney, Luke Orrin, Daryl Worbey, Emily Morus Jones.
The show was created by Fulwell 73 and had award winning showrunner Spencer Millman as showrunner.
The show was filmed in both LA and the UK – Elstree Studios. We had a wonderful cast of world renown puppeteers that have worked on projects like the Dark Crystal, Muppets, sesame street, puppet up and Happytime Murders.
About Me:
Chris Barlow Puppets and Creatures is a Ltd Company. I design, illustrate, sculpt and fabricate creating engaging characters for TV, film, theme parks, resorts and theatre. I have a performance background as both an actor and puppeteer. So when I develop characters and build puppets I always approach the project from the point of view of the performer. Due to this I strive to build characters that are engaging and believable, whilst making them a joy to perform. Allowing the puppeteer to get the maximum and most versatile performance out of them. I have worked in puppets and creature FX for a number of years; spanning TV, Film, theatre and online mediums.
