Grump is one of the central characters in a project I am developing. I’m hoping to create a little online series that works in chapters featuring a range of puppet characters. I’m attempting to explore my own style and what i like in the look and movement of the puppets and the sort of characters id like them to be. I hope the series will be anarchic, funny, relate-able and touching. Grump is one of the two central characters. and here he is during lock down not sure what to do with himself. As a puppet grump features, rodded hands with armature, removable feet that can have a puppeteers fingers slipped into so they wiggle. The Grump puppet has a big expressive face and eyebrows that cover his eyes completely.

About Me:

I am a professional puppet maker and creature creator. Also I design, illustrate, sculpt and fabricate. I have a performance background as both an actor and puppeteer. So when I develop characters and build puppets I always approach the project from the point of view of the performer. Due to this I strive to build characters that are engaging and believable, whilst making them a joy to perform. Allowing the puppeteer to get the maximum and most versatile performance out of them. I have worked in puppets and creature FX for a number of years; spanning TV, Film, theatre and online mediums.
