This was a really fun group build to create Chompus for the xmas special of Yonderland 3 for sky 1. The team was Headed by Fiona Cazaly, a lot of the design work was done by Natalie Ellnor, I was largely responsible for Chompus’s face, I designed and built the mech for the eye and eyebrow/horn lift, I painted the eyes and made the facial features of the teeth and nose etc. I was also lucky enough to perform him in the show.

The puppet team was headed by Fiona Cazaly. With puppet builders Natalie Ellnor, Andy Heath, myself and puppet costume maker David Brown, puppet props maker Lisa coles, and Department assistant Christiana Kafaridou.

I am a professional puppet maker and creature creator. I design, illustrate, sculpt and fabricate. I also have a performance background as both an actor and puppeteer, so when I develop characters and build puppets I always approach the project from the point of view of the performer. I strive to build characters that are engaging and believable, whilst making them a joy to perform, allowing the puppeteer to get the maximum and most versatile performance out of them. I have worked in puppets and creature FX for a number of years; spanning TV, Film, theatre and online mediums.
